I blame this recent purchase to Aqualysa – which deserves the title as the queen of blushes -, who raves about this blush to a level that I thought I would be committing a sin if I don’t get one! I throw many questions to her, hoping that I would not need to buy one, because my current blush collection is already enough for one lifetime, give or take. But she said, that it’s different from any of the blushes that we’ve both tried, and she convinced me enough that it would definitely worth the purchase. So I gave in.

Turned out, Tarte site was having a Friends and Family Sale at that time, so this blush, which I bought through PO from Valent’s lapak, costs more or less the same with their regular price in the US.

So, what is Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush? It’s a nutrient rich and skintuitive that helps to neutralize the complexion and promises better result. So good that it promises to stay for up to 12 hours! It’s also said that this blush will give much truer colour as seen on the pan. Don’t we all love very pigmented blush?

First up, the packaging. I was expecting something sturdier, but it came in a flimsy and somewhat cheap looking *gasp* plastic packaging. But the filigree ornaments on the packaging really remedy this problem as the look really beautiful on the packaging. But the best part is that the colour of the packaging mimics the colour of your blush. So no more looking at the back of the packaging to find out which blush colour it is in the morning. You can just give a glance to your blush collection and know what colour you will get. This is especially important for me because I have plenty of blushes to choose from. When the packaging are uniform and the only way to differentiate one colour from another is by looking at the sticker label at the back of the packaging or actually opening it, really, it’s too much hassle for me in the morning.

It’s 5.6g in size, which is a normal blush size. So it should lasts you for more than a year if you use it every single day.

The colour is a very lovely coral with hint of shimmer that is soft and give a natural highlighting effect when lights touch the high planes of your cheek. What I love about it is that though most coral will straight away on cool tone, but on warmer tone it can be a bit muddy, but this one doesn’t. It’s neither too warm nor too cool.

The texture is really soft, not chalky at all. I use the regular blush brush, one that is a bit flat (not a round), but still fluffy, and only tap it slightly to get the product on the brush. And I only apply it once, I don’t even  need to add another layer. FYI, I have a NW35 (MAC foundation shade) tone, that is leaning toward medium-deep tone. So you see how very pigmented this blush can be. And it really do lasts for a very long time. At least, when I go out in the afternoon I don’t need to touch up my blush.

Anyone looking for a coral blush should be definitely consider to buy this one. It’s $25, so definitely value for money.
