Fit N Fab: Les Mills Bodybalance 60
It’s only 8:30 AM on a Sunday and I feel refreshed and awake. As it is International Fitness Week, Fitness First (in KL and Selangor, at least) is holding many exciting activities, such as holding Bodybalance class outdoor. I was more than happy to wake up early at the crack of dawn today just to attend this class. It’s always been a dream of mine to do yoga (or its equivalent) out in the open air.
If you’re unfamiliar with Les Mills Bodybalance (also known as Flow in the U.S.), here’s the scoop. Bodybalance is a mixture of Tai chi, Yoga, and Pilates. It’s a 55 minutes workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Each movement is done by way of controlled breathing, extra concentration and doing a series of stretches, moves and poses to music. Les Mills is known for their (awesome) choreography, which is renewed every 3 months (also known as “New Release”). Now, it’s only been a week since the launch of their new release choreography, and Bodybalance 60 does not disappoint. If I could explain it in one word, it’s SEXY. I mean, would you take a look at these songs that are played during class:
My personal favorites are track number 5,8, and 9b. Alright, I like them all! It’s not the usual Anya and wind chimes music, people! I often find myself grooving to the music as I do my poses. Sexy music, I tell you. Another great thing about Bodybalance is that it’ll make you sweat buckets. Who knew planks can make my arms jiggle? The best part about this particular new release is that you get to do the bird pose and bird in a basket (phewww!). Word of caution: just be careful with those poses. Take the easier alternative poses if you need to.
This class is very addicting. It’s a great stress reliever and listening to groovy music always makes my heart happy. So what do you say of giving Les Mills Bodybalance a try? You won’t be disappointed.
