Recent Love: Pinks!

0

If someone asked me what color I love the most, I will definitely have a hard time answering because I love every single color. Seriously. I love it all: blue, green, pink, brown, orange, red, black, white, yellow. You name it, I probably love it! I can’t pick just one. I can easily fall in love with red one day, and then go head over heels for green the next.

I’ve recently found myself surrounded by pinks. The fun thing about color is how we can get a varied spectrum of shades in one color family. In my case, I have four favorite pink items right now, and they are all a different shade of pink. One is hot fuschia pink, the other one is baby pink, and as you can see, the rest are all different variations on pink.

Battle of the Week: Le Pliage Against Pop Tote for Travel

0

Ever since I got my hands on the Longchamp Le Pliage, I got addicted of how light the bag really is. Not only it’s my favourite bag for everyday use, but it’s also the bag of choice for travelling. I’ve once wrote the must-have items for travelling, and the foldable Longchamp Le Pliage is among them. Why? Because it doesn’t add weight to the total weight of the items that I carry with me on my shoulder. On top of that, you can fold it and make it your shopping bag. How convenient, right?

But now the Longchamp Le Pliage has a contender: the Furla Pop Tote. Equally made from water-repellent nylon, but it has a nice calf leather finishing detail. Though the Longchamp Le Pliage also has a leather flap and handle, which makes it very durable to wear and  able to hold the weight that you add to the bag, both are equally charming and also durable.

Celebrating Tas Elizabeth Golden Year!

0

Fifty years is a length of time as long or short as you make it out to be. Fifty years is also cause for celebration for Tas Elizabeth, which celebrated its golden anniversary with a celebration where they showed off their latest collections a well.

At the press conference, we learned that the day was cause for three kinds of celebration: not only did it acknowledge the fiftieth anniversary of Tas Elizabeth, but it also happened to be Kartini Day and the birthday of Ibu Elizabeth herself. How surreptitious! The planets must have been in perfect alignment for the birthday of a very great lady and the day of celebration of modern Indonesian feminism. Could this be more than just coincidence? (Yeah it probably is, but I’d like to think not!)

Through their proud children, Lisa and Denny Subali, we learned that Tas Elizabeth started in 1963, when Ibu Elizabeth and her husband, Pak Handoko, began selling homemade bags door to door on Pak Handoko’s fixed-gear bicycle. It took a little time and a lot of hard work, but with support from customers, government, and dedicated employees, the business grew from having a capital of one fixed-gear bicycle to forty stores, and from having two craftsmen to having eight hundred employees.

Recent Purchase: Structured Furla Ariana Tote

I fell in love immediately to this structured Furla Ariana Tote eversince I first saw it or Furla’s website. It wasn’t available yet in Indonesia at that time, and I’ve been putting it on my wish list since the beginning of this year. And my patience finally paid off. During my mom’s recent trip to Europe, I asked her to get this tote for me. When I first held this bag in my hands, all I can say is that it’s as good as I imagine it would be.

What do I love about the bag? It’s structured and not slouchy, which I really need at the moment for more formal occasions. As you may have noticed, structured bag is also trending this season. I guess gone are the days where you need extra large bags. I try to be super cautious with what I carried with me nowadays, because I think it’s weighing down my shoulder. My posture actually slightly slouching to the right side.

The top handle and crossover strap are very functional. A cliche statement, but truly you can dress it up or down, according to your liking.

But the best past is the Saffiano printed calf leather that looks luxurious and well made, it also doesn’t scratches easily which makes it an ideal to be worn on daily basis.

Mine is in Rosada colour but unfortunately the lovely and bright fuchsia shade is not available here. But if you head down to Furla now, you will see it in Papaya and Emerald, and the Papaya would definitely steal your attention immediately. A fresh orange that is so versatile. It retails for IDR 4,000,000 but if you want to get one, you better hurry because last week when this bag has just newly arrived, people were already going gaga over it in the Gandaria City outlet.
